Udupi: A day–long convention of the beauticians association was inaugurated at Hotel Durga International Auditorium here on March 31.
The programme began with a welcome dance by Kumari Hema. Geetha Dayanand welcomed the gathering. Veda Suvarna secretary of the association presented the report.
Anitha Shirly Founder president of Akhila Karnataka Beauty Parlours Association Bengaluru inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp and wished all success to the programme.
Maria Molly Fernandes president of district unit presided over the function. In her message Maria said that there are many challenges in beautifying women, training and development makes a beautician perfect. A beautician has to be wise enough in choosing products to face her competitors. The association will strengthen the perspectives of beauticians, she added.
Vanitha S Thorvi member of Karnataka state child rights protection commission Bengaluru addressing the gathering said that Beauticians play a prominent role in confidence building among women as they introduce new face to the world. Women are leading the globe with the intention to bring new changes amid challenges in the society, while at the end of the day women is who tends the society in the right direction. Her ability strengthens with every challenge. The capacity of women has made her to reach every sector where male domination was prevailing, she added.
Social worker Jayashree Krishnaraj, Mangaluru Beauty Parlours Association president Sony and others were present on the occasion.
