This time, we went on the prowl for some continental delicacies and our food sense said that there was some really good continental food hidden in the kitchen of Magus Restaurant in Maya International Hotel. Maya also claims to have few exclusive dishes in all the criteria of cuisines including Chinese and especially in the South Indian food.
 
So then, we ordered for few of their best continental dishes. The first one that got our appetites started was the Hawaiian Salad which was the ideal salad dish made of chicken shredded into thin strands dipped in mayonnaise sauce and served with some vegetables. The next item on our table was the Prawns Tempura, this one really made us get tempests in our mouths to savour every bit of the tasty medium sized prawns coated with a brownish golden covering which made it a bit spicy yet smooth in taste. And Fish fingers was the last starter which didn’t look appetizing but it was crunchy and tasty and of course, boneless.
 
For drinks, we had one of their cocktails, The Long Island and a mocktail, The Shimmers Special. The Long Island was a strong mix of liqueurs where it was supposed to be smooth and enjoyable. As a matter of fact, it tasted like as if we were drinking the liqueurs right from the bottle. The mocktail however, won our hearts. The Shimmers Special is the perfect blend of the right amount of juices and sweetness. It was the best drink to go along with the meals.
 
And for the main course, there was Steak Diana on our plates. This dish is made of vegetables and mushrooms topped by a thick layer of sauce which was not spicy nor sweet, rather a little bland but goes well with the Ghee rice that comes along with the dish.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

Apart from the Continental food available there, one can also find the Veg Kabab Platter which is there to be served to the vegans. The Paneer Ghee roast is yet another item not to be missed by the vegetarian foodies but this dish proves out to be a bit expensive but none-the-less, worth it.
 
After all that continental experimental dishes, we could not wait longer to taste some south Indian dishes of theirs, which they also claimed to be the specialists in.
 
The fish starter was a South Indian sea food delicacy, Kane Tava Fry that is Lady Fish fried on a tava. This however was an average dish for its price!
 
Our second try was the Chicken Ghee Roast! which was priced the same when compared to other over rated restaurants, but the disappointing part was again the quantity !
It tasted average with small pieces of Chicken.
 
After these we tried the chicken Sukka and the Puli-munchi (spicy and sour fish curry) with traditional white/boiled rice which went hand in hand with each other.
 
They also had a variety of breads like the Egg Parota , Rumali Roti etc which blends well with their variety of gravies in the menu, the most common of the gravies being Butter chicken and Khadai.
 
They are also for their wonderful breakfast at Maya Darshini; now experience the same taste here at Maya International!!
 
On a celebratory note for Maya International, they celebrated their 1st anniversary on the 23rd of September this year. Maya International also houses a Rooftop hotel, Penthouse area and they also has a party hall and a Board room.

Some titles to the photographs of dishes would be very useful.

Good review guys.I did not know about this place.

I have a request for the foodies. If you guys can also review the hotels [lodging] apart from the retaurants it would be good for those looking to stay in Mangalore. For example this hotel looks like a new place.A review would be nice.
